CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq conducted a field tour during which he visited Jabalia and Beit Lahia cities, north of the Gaza Strip, accompanied by his Deputy for Planning and Projects Affairs Eng. Maher Al-Najjar and his Deputy for Technical Affairs Eng. Omar Shatat.

CMWU's delegation was received by Jabalia Municipality's Mayor Eng. Mazen Al-Najjar and Beit Lahia Municipality's Mayor Eng. Alaa Al-Attar, with this tour aiming to review the progress of the temporary repair of some of the damage sustained by water and sanitation facilities and networks within the boundaries of Jabalia and Beit Lahia cities as a result of the Israeli aggression, particularly some water and sewage lines that CMWU and Jabalia and Beit Lahia municipalities are maintaining, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, aiming to restore water services to the residents of the areas targeted during the aggression, in addition to repairing sanitation lines to prevent the health hazard resulting from sewage overflow after the transmission lines were targeted during the Israeli aggression, and restarting the central pumping station in Beit Lahia.

In turn, Eng. Monther Shoblaq affirmed that CMWU, during and after the end of the aggression, followed up on all the damage sustained by the infrastructure of the water and sanitation sector in various cities of the Gaza Strip, and worked to repair it in cooperation with the technical crews of the various municipalities, in order to prevent the collapse of services for the Strip's residents.

During the tour, Jabalia Municipality's Mayor Eng. Mazen Al-Najjar, a member of CMWU's Board of Directors, honored CMWU for its important role and its support for Jabalia Municipality during the recent Israeli aggression.
