The Operational Status of Seawater Desalination Plants Amid the Continuing Israeli Bombardment of the Gaza Strip
First: The Gaza Desalination Plant in the Al-Sudaniya Area
The plant is still operating remotely with field monitoring by CMWU's operational team whenever appropriate conditions allow, and is operating at full capacity to produce 10,000 cubic meters daily, despite the bombardment that struck the area adjacent to the plant this morning "around the Al-Forousiya area", not far from the plant's location.
It is worth noting that this plant serves the western neighborhoods of Gaza city.
Second: The Seawater Desalination Plant South of the Gaza Strip
"Phase One" is operating at full capacity of 6,000 cubic meters daily, through a combination of remote operation and partial field monitoring by CMWU's operating team.
Note that the Phase Two and Three unit, to produce 14,000 cubic meters daily, has not yet been operated as it is still in the final calibration stage by the contractor.
This plant serves the residents of the western areas of Rafah and Khan Younis cities and some areas of Deir al-Balah city.
Third: The Seawater Desalination Plant in the Central Gaza Strip
The plant operates according to the available electricity connection hours and produces about 2,500 cubic meters daily to serve some neighborhoods of Deir al-Balah and Al-Zawayda cities.
