CMWU, in cooperation with the electricity distribution company and funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began connecting a permanent electric power line to "Al-Jineina" sewage pumping station in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, as this station is considered one of the most important pumping stations in Rafah and serves about 160,000 people.
This comes as part of the project to connect permanent power lines to a number of water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to secure a permanent power source for those facilities.
It is worth noting that this project comes as part of the "Raising Emergency Readiness" program funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with this program aiming to secure permanent sources of electric power for water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, to ensure their operation particularly during emergencies.
