Beginning Implementation of a Project to Connect Permanent Power Lines to a Number of Water and Sanitation Facilities

CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing a project to connect permanent power lines to a number of water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to secure a permanent power source for those facilities.
The project includes connecting permanent power lines operating around the clock to "Al-Sawarha" sewage pumping station in Al-Zawayda town, central Gaza Strip, and pumping station "5" in Gaza city, in addition to constructing a high- and low-voltage electricity network to connect Al-Fukhari 2 water well, as it is considered the main source feeding the water reservoir located east of Salah Al-Din.
This project comes as part of the "Raising Emergency Readiness" program funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with this program aiming to secure permanent sources of electric power for water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, to ensure their operation particularly during emergencies.
