Beginning Implementation of a Project to Connect Permanent Power Lines to a Number of Water and Sanitation Facilities

Gaza – CMWU

CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing a project to connect permanent power lines to a number of water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to secure a permanent power source for those facilities.

The project includes connecting permanent power lines operating around the clock to Al-Jineina sewage pumping station in Rafah and an additional line for Sheikh Radwan reservoir, Mirage well, the Turkish reservoir, Al-Shawka and Al-Jam'iya well in Rafah, and Al-Fukhari 1 and 2 wells.

This project comes as part of the "Raising Emergency Readiness" program funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with this program aiming to secure permanent sources of electric power for water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip, to ensure their operation particularly during emergencies.
