CMWU has begun implementing a project to construct and rehabilitate sewage networks in various areas of the Gaza Strip, with the project including constructing a sewage network and household connections in the Abu Ma'la area in Al-Nuseirat and next to the cemetery area in Al-Bureij in the middle of the Gaza Strip, in addition to rehabilitating and developing the sewage network on Amman Street in southern Al-Remal and the Public Security area in Gaza city, with the aim of improving the sanitation service provided to residents of those areas, and in order to prevent health hazards that negatively affect the environment and residents' health.

This comes with funding from UNICEF and in cooperation with the municipalities within whose jurisdiction those areas fall.
