Gaza – CMWU

CMWU, in cooperation with Deir al-Balah Municipality, began implementing the project to construct a rainwater drainage system in Abu Fitair area, south of Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip, funded by the State of Kuwait through UNICEF, in cooperation with the Water Authority, at a total value of $350,000.

This project aims to protect residents and their property from the risks of rainwater flooding, particularly as the area suffers from rainwater accumulation and flooding entering residents' homes during the winter season, with this project serving about 20,000 people.

This project comes as part of CMWU's strategic plan related to separating rainwater from sewage water and making optimal use of it.
