Beginning Implementation of a Project to Construct Fuel Tanks for Use in Emergencies
Gaza – CMWU
CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing a project to construct fuel tanks for use in emergencies, aiming to provide the fuel needed to operate strategic water and sanitation facilities and ensure the continued supply of water and sanitation services to the residents of the Gaza Strip during emergencies.
This comes as part of strengthening the emergency readiness plan prepared and developed by CMWU, the Water Authority, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the municipalities of the Gaza Strip.
The basic components of the emergency plan include establishing emergency warehouses and training crews working during emergencies, in addition to communication mechanisms during crises, as well as accompanying works such as maintaining and coding machinery to facilitate their field follow-up, with this plan updated annually in cooperation with all relevant parties.
