Beginning the Development and Rehabilitation Works of Teca Turkish Well in Khan Younis
Gaza – CMWU
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and as part of the water wells maintenance and rehabilitation project funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began rehabilitation and development works on Teca Turkish water well west of Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip.
The works include constructing a concrete chamber to replace the worn-out iron chamber, in order to preserve the well's components, in addition to electromechanical maintenance for the pumping system at the well, and this well serves about 10,000 people.
It is worth noting that CMWU had, during the past few days and as part of the works of this project funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out emergency maintenance on Teca 1 water well, which serves the towns of east Khan Younis, well 148, Teca 2 well, and Al-Safa well in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the Qatari well in Al-Nasr town in Rafah and wells g46 and g56 in Nuseirat, central Gaza Strip.
