Completion of the Solar Power Plant and Permanent Power Line Construction Project for Al-Baraka Water Reservoir in Deir al-Balah

CMWU, in cooperation with Deir al-Balah Municipality, completed the project to construct a solar power plant and a permanent power line for Al-Baraka water reservoir in Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip, supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross at a value of $350,000, with this project including constructing a 226 kW solar power plant, in addition to installing a permanent power line for the reservoir.

This project aims to provide the power needed to operate the reservoir at full capacity, in addition to operating the K22 well located next to the reservoir, in order to improve the service provided to residents of the areas benefiting from the reservoir.

It is worth noting that Al-Baraka reservoir serves the western and southern part of Deir al-Balah city (the Al-Hakr Al-Mashaale and Al-Baraka area, in addition to Al-Mu'askar and Al-Hadaba), with the number of beneficiaries of the reservoir exceeding 50,000 people.
