CMWU, in cooperation with Nuseirat Municipality and with funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), carried out maintenance work on the Al-Husseiniya wastewater pumping station west of Nuseirat, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the sustainability of sanitation services and strengthen the operational efficiency of vital facilities.
The works included replacing valves, check valves, and a number of completely damaged and worn-out parts, ensuring the continued operation of the station, raising its operational efficiency, and reducing faults that could affect sanitation services in the area.
These works are part of joint efforts aimed at improving the performance of wastewater pumping stations and strengthening their operational efficiency, contributing to protecting the environment and public health and reducing environmental risks, particularly given the exceptional conditions facing the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that the Al-Husseiniya wastewater pumping station west of Nuseirat is one of the most prominent vital and strategic sanitation facilities in the area, serving a large segment of the population, especially given the large number of displaced persons in the area.
