CMWU completed maintenance of the transmission line between the South seawater desalination plant and the Al-Satar reservoir in Khan Younis, with desalinated water reaching the reservoir for the first time since the start of the war, serving 200,000 people.
As part of the ongoing efforts and works being carried out by CMWU's technical teams, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, and despite the conditions of the continuing war on Gaza and scarce resources, and in order to improve water delivery services to the western areas and neighborhoods and Al-Mawasi, densely populated with hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced persons in Khan Younis city, maintenance and repair works have been completed on the damage sustained by the main part of the water transmission line connecting the South Gaza seawater desalination plant with the Al-Satar/Al-Israa reservoir and pumping station system, which was previously repaired and maintained, enabling desalinated water to reach the Al-Satar water reservoir today for the first time since the start of the war. This works to secure drinking water for more than 200,000 people, by activating water distribution networks and securing a sustainable water source to fill mobile water tankers heading toward shelter and displacement centers.
