CMWU, in partnership with UNICEF and Gaza Municipality, completed the rehabilitation and development of the sanitation network on Amman Street in Gaza city, aiming to divert part of the sewage water from Pumping Station No. 1 to the new Station "11", and also completed the rehabilitation of the sanitation network on Al-Nasr Street by extending a sanitation line to solve the problem of repeated sewage overflow in that area.
This comes as part of the project to rehabilitate sanitation networks in Gaza city, Al-Bureij, and Nuseirat, funded by the UN Central Emergency Response Fund through UNICEF.
The project also included constructing a sanitation network and household connections in the Abu Mu'alla area in Nuseirat and next to the cemetery area in Al-Bureij, central Gaza Strip, aiming to improve the sanitation service provided to the residents of those areas, and to prevent health hazards that negatively affect the environment and residents' health.
This project serves about 20,000 people at a total cost of about $460,000.
