The Water Service Providers Union, funded by the French Development Agency, concluded training courses for CMWU and municipal crews.
As part of the capacity-building program funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), the Water Service Providers Union, in cooperation with the Water Authority, concluded a number of training courses targeting a number of engineering crews affiliated with CMWU and the various municipalities of the Gaza Strip, aiming to develop the capacities of the engineering crews working in the water and sanitation sector.
The training courses addressed important topics on reusing treated sewage water, improving water and energy efficiency at water and sanitation facilities, and occupational safety.
The closing day was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the Water Service Providers Union and CMWU's Executive Director Eng. Monther Shoblaq, Eng. Marwan Al-Bardawil, Director of the Projects Coordination Unit at the Water Authority, Ziad Fuqaha of the Water Authority, and Eng. Rabhi Al-Sheikh, Consultant of the French Development Agency.
In his speech during the closing day, Eng. Shoblaq affirmed the importance of this qualitative course in raising the efficiency and capacities of those working in the water sector, increasing their expertise, and sharpening their technical and professional skills, and transferring this information and expertise to the rest of their colleagues in the municipalities of the Gaza Strip, and affirmed the keenness of the Palestinian Water Service Providers Union and CMWU to develop the performance of workers in the water services sector in various technical, administrative, and financial fields.
Shoblaq also praised the role of the partner organizations and bodies in this training program, particularly the Palestinian Water Authority, for its continuous interest in developing the performance of Palestinian competencies at water service providers, and Eng. Shoblaq also praised the great interest shown by the French Development Agency (AFD) in supporting the water and sanitation sector, particularly regarding institutional development and raising the efficiency of workers in the water and sanitation services sector, in addition to continuously supporting qualitative projects, and he also thanked the staff of CMWU and the municipalities for their effective participation during the training course, which demonstrates their keenness to improve their performance in a way that benefits the quality of the service provided to residents, wishing this training program achieves its desired goals.
