
CMWU, funded by UNICEF, is implementing Phase One of the rainwater drainage network at Abu Al-Reesh pool in Khan Younis.
A glimpse of the Phase One works of the project to construct a rainwater drainage network for Abu Al-Reesh pool, implemented by CMWU in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and funded by UNICEF. The project aims to facilitate the process of draining and transporting rainwater from Abu Al-Reesh pool in Block (G) area of the camp, to the main collection pool located north of Al-Amal neighborhood.
Phase One includes extending a 60cm-diameter concrete rainwater drainage line, 480 meters long, with 10 manholes 1.5 meters in diameter, installing 2 rainwater drains, and removing and reinstalling interlock tiles in the area benefiting from the project.
The project extends from west of Al-Khulafa Street in Al-Akkad camp, passing through Al-Kasiha Street, to the intersection of Abu Leila and Saadi Salama streets, aiming to strengthen and develop the network as required, as part of the continuous preparations to receive the winter season, in order to protect residents and their property from the risks of rainwater flooding.
