A delegation from the European Union's Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations office visited CMWU's headquarters in Al-Zahra city, south of Gaza city, to review the challenges facing CMWU in continuing to provide its services to the residents of the Gaza Strip, particularly regarding electrical power and the economic situation and its impact on the ability to continue operating the strategic facilities expected to come into service during the coming few months.
The delegation was received by Eng. Monther Shoblaq, CMWU's Director-General, and Eng. Maher Al-Najjar, Deputy Director-General for Policies and Planning Affairs.
During the meeting, an overview of the overall challenges facing the Utility was presented, particularly regarding the budget needed to operate and maintain water and sanitation facilities amid the financial deficit facing CMWU and the Gaza Strip's municipalities.
