CMWU, with support from UNICEF, installed a solar-powered mobile desalination plant at the Al-Balad J32 reservoir in Deir al-Balah, the first of its kind in Palestine (16 cubic meters per day).
CMWU's engineering and technical teams completed maintenance and installation works on a mobile desalination plant at the Al-Balad J32 reservoir in Deir al-Balah city, with support from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
This intervention is part of efforts aimed at providing drinking water to residents and displaced persons in the area, particularly amid the difficult humanitarian conditions.
The plant is the first of its kind in Palestine in terms of technological advancement, relying entirely on solar power, and featuring advanced technologies and a portable, bag-based design, with a production capacity of about 16 cubic meters of water per day. It is also distinguished by its ability to desalinate various types of saline water, including seawater, without the need for chemicals.
