CMWU, funded by the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" through the Norwegian Refugee Council, distributed protective clothing against the coronavirus and disinfection materials to all workers at the Gaza Strip's municipalities, in order to protect them and enable them to work, particularly amid the emergence of coronavirus cases within the local community.

This comes as part of CMWU's efforts and the campaign it is carrying out to protect workers in the water and sanitation sector affiliated with CMWU and the municipalities from the risks of the pandemic's spread, with CMWU having, during the past weeks and months, distributed numerous protective clothing and tools to all workers, the latest of which coincided with the imposition of the curfew and the declaration of the state of emergency in the Gaza Strip, in addition to disinfecting all water and sanitation facilities spread across all areas of the Gaza Strip.
