CMWU, with support from the Red Cross and UNICEF, is desludging about 70 kilometers of destroyed sanitation networks in Khan Younis.
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, is implementing the approved plan to reconstruct the sanitation system in Khan Younis city, with technical crews desludging and cleaning the gravity sanitation network using the available resources of equipment, materials, and technical crews, with equipment rented through the International Committee of the Red Cross, and also using the vacuum tanker received by the water utility with support from the Emirati Red Crescent. This work runs in parallel with the work to repair the six sanitation stations in Khan Younis city, with the work on repairing the sanitation stations proceeding according to the plan prepared by the water utility, with this project funded by UNICEF.
In this context, the water utility calls for combining efforts from all partners to work on providing the resources needed to complete the repair of the sanitation networks in Khan Younis city that the Israeli occupation destroyed, which in total reach about 70 kilometers.
