CMWU, funded by the European Commission (ECHO), is maintaining the Al-Rahma reservoir in Khan Younis, one of the most important reservoirs in the city center.
CMWU continues carrying out the maintenance works needed for the Al-Rahma water reservoir in Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip, funded by the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) and in cooperation with CARE and the Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief) and Khan Younis Municipality.
Mechanical maintenance of the reservoir's dedicated pumps has been completed, along with maintenance of the 14-inch transmission line from the reservoir feeding Khan Younis city, as well as maintenance of the service building for the operating staff, which sustained severe damage as a result of Israeli bombardment.
Work is also continuing on preparing the reservoir's dedicated electrical panel, and work is underway on maintaining the reservoir's dedicated generator, which has a capacity of 400 KVA, in addition to addressing and insulating the damaged areas in the reservoir's body to prevent any water leakage, as well as maintaining the Al-Kuwaiti and Al-Tahaddi wells feeding the reservoir.
It is worth noting that the Al-Rahma reservoir is one of the most important main reservoirs in Khan Younis city, and if restored to operation, it will positively affect the quantity of water produced and pumped into the network, as the reservoir serves the city center area, Al-Muaskar, and the Qeizan Abu Rashwan and Batn Al-Sameen neighborhoods.
