CMWU, funded by UNICEF, carried out dozens of water line maintenance works in the Al-Rimal, Al-Nasr, Sheikh Radwan neighborhoods, and Al-Shati camp in Gaza.
CMWU, in cooperation with Gaza Municipality, and as part of the heavy machinery and equipment rental and labor provision project funded by UNICEF, carried out a series of maintenance and repair works on water and sanitation lines and networks in a number of Gaza City neighborhoods, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the continuity of water services and ease residents' suffering amid the difficult conditions facing the Strip.
The works covered the following areas:
Al-Rimal Neighborhood
- Maintenance of water lines opposite Italiano Restaurant.
- Maintenance of water lines around Panda Mall, Ard Al-Halabi.
- Maintenance works on Al-Shuhada Street.
- Maintenance of water lines around Al-Katiba opposite Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Al-Nasr Neighborhood
- Repair of water lines opposite the Abu Shurkh Diwan.
- Maintenance of water lines opposite Al-Za'im Building.
- Maintenance works around the Abu Alaba garage.
- Repair of water lines near Musa Arafat Tower.
- Maintenance of iron water lines opposite Al-Hajjar Building.
Sheikh Radwan Neighborhood
- Maintenance of water lines south of Al-Ghazali junction.
- Maintenance works on Third Street opposite Al-Furqan Mosque.
- Maintenance of part of the water network at Bahloul junction.
Various Areas
- Repair of a water line on Jaffa Street opposite Al-Mahatta Mosque.
- Maintenance of water lines on Al-Wahda Street west of the Jabalia stop.
- Repair of water lines on Al-Jalaa Street north of Al-Jalaa junction.
Al-Shati Camp
- Maintenance of water lines around the White Mosque north of Hamid junction.
- Repair of water lines north of Al-Malash Tower (12).
- Maintenance of a water line at the end of Hamid Street, western side.
- Repair of a water line branching from a main line opposite Asqalan Mosque.
- Maintenance of a water line next to Al-Yarmouk Mosque.
- Beginning maintenance works on a number of sanitation manholes around Ard Bakr inside the camp.
CMWU affirmed that these works are part of the emergency response to improve the efficiency of water and sanitation networks and ensure water reaches citizens, contributing to strengthening residents' resilience and easing the burden of daily life amid current challenges.
