As part of the emergency repair and maintenance project linked to combating the coronavirus, implemented by CMWU in cooperation with the German development organization GIZ, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), CMWU, in cooperation with Jabalia Municipality, carried out maintenance and rehabilitation on Al-Omari water well in Jabalia city, north of the Gaza Strip, with the works including complete maintenance of the well's pumping system and replacing the well's manifold, in addition to all its damaged parts, aiming to raise its efficiency and improve water services in the areas fed with water by the well, as this well serves residents in the center of Jabalia city, in addition to the old town, numbering about 40,000 people.
