Bombing and Destruction of CMWU's Main Building in Al-Zahra City in Gaza
CMWU's Chairman, senior management, and all staff and employees condemn the brutal aggression that targeted the water utility's headquarters, the latest of which was the complete targeting and destruction of the Utility's main building located in Al-Zahra city, central Gaza.
The occupation's aggression was not limited to the main building alone, but also previously affected CMWU's main warehouses located in the south of the Gaza Strip, specifically in the Khan Younis Mawasi area, where the Khan Younis warehouse is considered one of the largest of CMWU's warehouses in the Gaza Strip, which contained most of the equipment and maintenance parts needed to maintain and operate the desalination and water pumping plants and sewage treatment plants located across the Gaza Strip.
CMWU's loss was not only in the destruction of the Utility's buildings and warehouses and the theft of their contents; the greater loss for the water utility was in the targeting of its staff and engineers while they were working to serve our people, by supplying drinking water to shelter areas and repairing water and sanitation network supplies.
CMWU considers the targeting of its headquarters and staff to be a deliberate insistence by the occupation on targeting the institutions that serve our people and help displaced persons strengthen their resilience.
In the end, these repeated attacks on the water utility's headquarters and staff will not prevent it from carrying out its duty toward our people.
May God have mercy on our martyrs and the martyrs of Palestine, and a speedy recovery for the wounded and afflicted.
