Supported by UNICEF, CMWU Supplies Water and Sanitation Facilities in Various Areas of the Gaza Strip with Diesel Fuel

CMWU, supported by UNICEF, began supplying various water and sanitation facilities in the Gaza Strip with 50,000 liters of diesel fuel as a first phase to ensure the continuation of supplying a minimum level of services to residents.
This comes as part of CMWU's efforts to secure the highest-priority needs of water and sanitation facilities in the various cities of the Gaza Strip, with support from some partner international organizations, including UNICEF, amid the continuing worsening of the electricity crisis, represented in the reduced number of connection hours as a result of damage to the power lines feeding the Gaza Strip due to the disconnection of the Israeli power lines feeding the Gaza Strip, as well as due to Israeli bombardment and the closure of the Kerem Shalom crossing, and expectations that the fuel needed to operate the Strip's sole power generation plant would not be allowed to enter, which negatively affects the operation of various water and sanitation facilities.
CMWU calls on all partner international organizations to support the efforts of CMWU and the municipalities to continue providing a minimum level of services to the residents of the Gaza Strip amid the current difficult conditions facing the Strip, and to prevent a humanitarian, health, and environmental crisis in the event that water and sanitation facilities stop working.
