CMWU Carries Out Maintenance on a Number of Sewage Pumping Stations Spread Across All Areas of the Gaza Strip

As part of preparing for the winter season, CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out maintenance and rehabilitation works on a number of sewage pumping stations in various areas of the Gaza Strip, with the works including maintaining and rehabilitating Al-Maghraqa and Al-Sawarha pumping stations in Al-Zawayda town, Al-Amal in Al-Zahra city, Al-Bassa station in Deir al-Balah, and the Wadi Gaza pumping station in the central Gaza Strip, in addition to Al-Jineina station and the Rafah treatment plant, south of the Gaza Strip. The maintenance works also included the "Al-Arayshiya" rainwater pumping station and Hasbat Al-Samak pumping station in Khan Younis city, in addition to Al-Manshiya and Al-Shaimaa stations in Beit Lahia, Mahader and Abu Rashid in Jabalia, and Umm Al-Nasr station in Umm Al-Nasr village, north of the Gaza Strip.
This project comes as part of the projects through which CMWU seeks to develop and rehabilitate sewage pumping stations and facilities in all cities of the Gaza Strip, aiming to raise their efficiency to ensure the continuity of their operation as required, in addition to preparing them to operate as needed during the winter season.
CMWU also carried out maintenance and rehabilitation works on numerous electric power generators serving sanitation facilities, in order to operate those facilities during power outages.
