CMWU Continues Implementing Repairs to Water and Sanitation Networks in Gaza and North Governorates

As part of the emergency repair plan and coinciding with the return of residents to Gaza and North Governorates, CMWU, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and in partnership with the municipalities of Gaza and the North, continues carrying out maintenance and repair works on a number of water and sanitation networks in several areas of Gaza City and the north of the Strip, particularly those to which residents have returned and which sustained significant infrastructure damage, as part of the heavy machinery, labor, and equipment rental project for the municipalities of Gaza, Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun.

The project aims to improve water and sanitation services and gradually restore them, particularly after the significant damage sustained by infrastructure as a result of the Israeli aggression, with repairs carried out in more than 20 areas, including the Al-Rimal, Al-Zeitoun, and Al-Shati neighborhoods in Gaza City, in addition to Beit Hanoun's main streets and other areas of the north of the Strip.

The maintenance operations included repairing and maintaining main and secondary water lines, in addition to maintaining sanitation lines and manholes. The interventions included maintaining some water and sanitation networks in several areas, with maintenance works carried out on Al-Mansour and Al-Montar Streets in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, Amman Street, the Arab League Street, Al-Dahshan Street, and the response area in Al-Sabra neighborhood, in addition to the Al-Muqousi area in Gaza City. The interventions also covered Al-Quds and Jaffa Streets in Jabalia, the area around Kamal Adwan Hospital and the Al-Shaimaa area in Beit Lahia, alongside Al-Sikka, Zamou, and Al-Na'ayma Streets in Beit Hanoun.

CMWU continues its efforts in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority and international institutions, to ensure the return of essential services to residents, and improve infrastructure in the affected areas.
