CMWU, in partnership with the Red Cross, maintained water networks at several sites in Gaza City including Al-Nafaq, Al-Nasr, Tal al-Hawa, and Al-Shati camp.

CMWU Carries Out Maintenance of Water Networks in Various Areas of Gaza City

CMWU, in cooperation with Gaza Municipality and in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), carried out maintenance and repair works on water networks in several areas of Gaza City, aiming to improve domestic water supply and ensure the continuity of service for citizens.

The maintenance works covered the following areas:

  • Al-Nafaq Street opposite Asma Bint Abi Bakr Mosque
  • Al-Nasr Street opposite Bank of Palestine
  • Al-Nasr Street opposite Al-Rantisi Children's Hospital
  • West of Sheikh Radwan Bridge
  • Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, middle of Abu Shabak Street
  • Al-Shati camp, Ghaben area
  • South of Abu Huseira Roundabout

The works included excavation, line maintenance, pipe replacement, and network rehabilitation to secure a regular water flow and improve the level of service for citizens, as these lines serve a large number of residents and displaced persons.

CMWU affirmed that it will continue its efforts and those of its partners to repair the damage sustained by the water and sanitation network and facilities in the various areas of Gaza City, to gradually restore water and sanitation services, aiming to ease the burden on residents returning to their areas.
