CMWU Begins Combating Mosquito Breeding Sites in Rafah City

CMWU's Rafah regional headquarters recently, with generous funding from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" and implementation by the Norwegian Refugee Council "NRC", as part of the winter season safety and preparedness project, pumped out the remaining water from the rainwater collection pond in Al-Jineina neighborhood in Rafah city and cleaned it to prepare it again to receive the coming winter season, with this coming as part of the Utility's efforts to eliminate any health hazards and combat mosquito breeding sites.
In the same context, CMWU pumped out the remaining water from numerous rainwater collection basins in Rafah city, in addition to clearing weeds and mosquito breeding areas along the banks of the sewage basins at the Central treatment plant in the city, in addition to the Utility's crews cooperating with Rafah Municipality's crews in spraying these areas with biological pesticides early to combat the spread of mosquitoes, with this coming as part of the diligent efforts exerted by CMWU in order to serve residents and provide them with a safe and clean healthy environment.
