A field tour with the International Committee of the Red Cross to construct and develop emergency warehouses in the Strip's governorates, currently numbering 13 warehouses.
CMWU and the International Committee of the Red Cross conducted a field tour across all governorates of the Gaza Strip, aiming to construct new emergency warehouses and rehabilitate and develop some existing warehouses to raise the level of readiness during emergencies.
It is worth noting that these warehouses contain numerous spare parts and maintenance supplies for various water and sanitation networks and facilities, and these warehouses are used only during emergencies, particularly wars, to prevent the collapse of water and sanitation services provided to residents of the Gaza Strip, with new types of spare parts, the need for which emerged during the recent war, added to the emergency warehouses over the past period, as well as replenishing the materials used during the recent war.
This tour also included a visit to CMWU's main warehouses in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, to review the systems in place and the method of crisis management during emergencies.
There are 13 emergency warehouses spread across all governorates of the Gaza Strip, constructed as part of the emergency readiness plan prepared and developed by CMWU, the Water Authority, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the municipalities of the Gaza Strip, with these warehouses having a positive and effective impact in easing the effects of destruction and preventing the collapse of water and sanitation services provided to residents, by using those materials in the emergency maintenance process for water and sanitation networks and various facilities damaged by bombardment.
