CMWU, in partnership with CARE International and the Agricultural Relief, received the Deir al-Balah desalination plant after maintenance (40 cubic meters per day), serving about 8,000 people.
CMWU's technical crews received the Deir al-Balah (Al-Balad) desalination plant after completing its maintenance, rehabilitation, and operation works, as part of a vital project to maintain and restore out-of-service plants to operation, in cooperation with CARE International and the Agricultural Relief.
The capacity of the Deir al-Balah desalination plant after the maintenance process is 40 cubic meters per day, contributing to easing the suffering of thousands of citizens who rely on desalination plants as a main source of obtaining drinking water. This plant serves about 8,000 people daily among residents and displaced persons, who face increasing scarcity of clean water since the outbreak of the war.
