CMWU, with support from Oxfam, repaired the Mekorot line feeding Khan Younis, raising the flow to 400 cubic meters per hour for about 400,000 beneficiaries.
After being bombed and sustaining damage several times, CMWU, in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority, and with support from Oxfam, repaired and maintained the Mekorot water line feeding Khan Younis Governorate, after it sustained severe damage as a result of continued Israeli bombardment and military operations in the area.
The Mekorot line is one of the most prominent water sources in Khan Younis, forming a vital artery for securing drinking water for residents, particularly amid the worsening humanitarian crisis and the increasing number of displaced persons in the western areas of the governorate.
The current rate of water flow from the Mekorot line to the Al-Satar reservoir is about 400 cubic meters per hour, contributing to improving water supply to the Khan Younis Mawasi area, whose population benefiting from this line is estimated at about 400,000 people.
