CMWU, funded by ECHO through Action Against Hunger, is implementing a rainwater drainage line from the Sheikh Zayed basin to the Al-Mashrou' basin in Beit Lahia, serving 15,000 residents.
Work is currently underway on implementing a project to construct a rainwater drainage line from the Sheikh Zayed basin to the "Al-Mashrou'" rainwater collection basin in Beit Lahia city, north of the Gaza Strip, under the supervision of CMWU's team consisting of Supervision Department Director Eng. Robin Al-Madhloum and Eng. Khaled Matar, and in the presence of Action Against Hunger representative Eng. Mohammed Al-Najjar and Beit Lahia Municipality representative Eng. Omar Abu Mahadi.
This project aims to collect rainwater in the Sheikh Zayed area and safely drain it to the Al-Mashrou' rainwater collection basin, strengthening the rainwater drainage system in the area, and protecting residents and their properties from the risks of rainwater flooding during rainy weather depressions, with this project serving 15,000 residents.
It is worth noting that this project is implemented by Action Against Hunger in partnership with CMWU and in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality, funded by the European Union - Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) - through Action Against Hunger, and implemented by a local contractor, Ibn Shanan Contracting Company.
