Constructing a 3.7km gravity line from the destroyed Al-Seifa station to Amer pumping station in Beit Lahia, funded by Japan through Save the Children, at a value of $450,000.
After the destruction of "Al-Seifa" sewage pumping station in Beit Lahia during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, CMWU, funded by the State of Japan through Save the Children, began constructing a gravity line from the destroyed station's site reaching Amer pumping station on Al-Rashid Street, 3.7 kilometers long, to dispose of the sewage water coming from the neighborhoods served by Al-Seifa station, with this project converting the pumping system into a gravity system and eliminating that station, in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality.
It is worth noting that this project will open the way in the future to serving a larger number of residents, since the gravity sanitation line passes through areas not connected to the sanitation network, making it possible to connect them to the network after constructing this line.
This project is considered one of the most important projects due to its effective role in protecting the environment and residents' health from the risks of health hazards on the residents of Al-Seifa area and protecting the groundwater aquifer, in addition to saving operating expenses, particularly energy consumption, and eliminating the pumping system and its associated operating costs.
This project serves about 22,000 people, and the project's total value is $450,000.
