Eng. Monther Shoblaq Conducts an Inspection Tour of CMWU's Regional Headquarters and Some of Its Projects in Rafah Governorate.
Rafah - CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq conducted an inspection tour of CMWU's regional headquarters in Rafah governorate, south of the Gaza Strip, with Eng. Shoblaq touring the regional headquarters' departments and sections and holding a special meeting with the department and section directors inside the headquarters, discussing with them ways to develop the services provided by the Utility, and overcome all the obstacles facing the work of employees and the projects implemented and operated by the Utility, with this inspection visit aiming to review the progress of work and discuss the technical and logistical aspects of the work in Rafah governorate.
Immediately after the meeting concluded, Eng. Shoblaq headed to visit some of CMWU's projects related to supplying residents with fresh water, as well as projects related to sewage treatment and rainwater collection, visiting during the tour Al-Zohour water reservoir project in Ureiba area, north of Rafah city, funded by USAID at a value of $2.3 million, with the reservoir's capacity reaching 4,000 cubic meters, and the reservoir will help improve water services provided to more than 50,000 residents of north and east Rafah governorate, and Eng. Shoblaq also reviewed the rainwater collection basin west of Rafah city, which contributes to protecting residents' homes from any potential danger resulting from the rise in rainwater levels in the winter season.
Eng. Shoblaq was accompanied on the tour by Mr. Mamdouh Al-Ghazali, Deputy Director-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Eng. Firas Abu Nqira, Acting Director of CMWU's regional headquarters in Rafah, Eng. Robin Al-Madhloum, Director of the Supervision Department, Eng. Mo'taz Abu Al-Qumbuz, Head of the Supervision Section, Eng. Alaa Al-Hams, Director of the Water Department at the Utility's headquarters in Rafah, and Eng. Fareed Sha'ban, Director of the Projects Department in Rafah, with Eng. Shoblaq praising the scale of the great achievement and distinguished performance of the Utility and its service projects in Rafah governorate, which have brought about a qualitative shift in the water and sanitation services provided to residents, despite the difficult circumstances the Strip is living through and despite the great obstacles facing the progress of work, with Eng. Shoblaq also praising the efficiency and level of the field crews and the bodies supervising the projects, thanking them for their keenness and tireless, distinguished efforts in serving residents, particularly in Rafah governorate, south of the Gaza Strip.
