Gaza – CMWU

CMWU began constructing a rainwater drainage line in the area between Bani Suheila roundabout and Abu Hamid square, to help drain rainwater, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and as part of the project to install rainwater networks in Rafah and Khan Younis governorates, funded by Anera.

An underground concrete culvert will be constructed at varying depths to reach the engineering gradients needed to ensure the smooth drainage of water and connect it to the main lines reaching the collection pool located north of Al-Amal neighborhood, and maximize the benefit from rainwater by filtering it into the groundwater aquifer.

The construction of the new line also contributes to easing the quantity of rainwater coming from the eastern villages that reaches deep into the city center, to preserve the lives and safety of residents and protect their property and facilitate the movement of residents and vehicles throughout the city.
