The Palestinian Water Service Providers Union and CMWU Conclude the First Course of the Joint Training Program.
Gaza - The Palestinian Water Service Providers Union, in cooperation with CMWU and funded by the Water Program in Palestine implemented by the German Corporation for Technical Cooperation (GIZ), concluded the first course of the training program for workers in the water and sanitation sector, which includes several technical, administrative, and financial aspects, and aims to raise the efficiency of workers in the water and sanitation sector, with the program's first course presenting a training course in the field of improving water bill collection efficiency, continuing for three intensive days, implemented by the coalition of the Aqua consulting center, the Nexus Center for Sustainable Development, and the Engineering Management Consulting Center (EMCC).
Eng. Monther Shoblaq, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Water Service Providers Union - CMWU's Director-General, affirmed, in his closing speech for the first training course, the importance of such qualitative programs in raising the efficiency and capabilities of workers in the water and sanitation sector, and increasing their experience and sharpening their skills in administrative and financial aspects in general, particularly as these courses come this year after the great success of the similar training program held last year, which achieved great results in advancing work within the municipalities and increasing the quality of services provided to residents, wishing the trainees would pass on the experience and skills they gained to the rest of their colleagues and peers at the municipalities.
Shoblaq also praised the role of the institutions and partner bodies in launching this training program, and praised the great interest shown by the German Corporation for Technical Cooperation in supporting the water and sanitation sector and continuously supporting qualitative projects, and also thanked the municipalities participating in the training course, which prove their keenness on upgrading their cadres in a way that benefits the quality of the service provided to residents, wishing this training program would achieve its desired goals and that the rest of the planned courses would be completed during the current month.
