CMWU has completed implementing a project to develop the emergency warehouses spread across the various governorates of the Gaza Strip, with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

This comes within the framework of strengthening readiness to work during emergencies, especially wars, as these warehouses proved their effectiveness during previous wars by contributing to easing the effects of Israeli bombardment on water and sanitation facilities and repairing them, with this project including constructing new warehouses and developing others to suit the work needs during emergencies and wartime.

It is worth noting that these warehouses contain the spare parts necessary to maintain water and sanitation networks and facilities that may be damaged during emergencies.

This project aims to strengthen the emergency readiness plan prepared and developed by CMWU, the Water Authority, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Gaza Strip's municipalities.

It is noted that these warehouses were previously replenished, with funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the materials used during the May 2021 war, and new materials were added that the need for emerged through previous experiences.
