تحذير من أزمة مياه وشيكة في خان يونس إثر خروج خزان السطر عن الخدمة
تحذر مصلحة مياه بلديات الساحل من أزمة إنسانية خطيرة في إمدادات المياه بمحافظة خان يونس، بعد خروج خزان السطر الواقع غرب المدينة عن الخدمة، نتيجة وقوعه ضمن مناطق الإخلاء. ويُعد هذا الخزان أحد أهم نقاط توزيع المياه في المحافظة، حيث يستقبل كميات كبيرة من مياه "ميكروت" التي تم استئناف ضخها مؤخرًا عقب انتهاء أعمال صيانتها إثر الأضرار التي لحقت بالخط جراء القصف.
يأتي ذلك في وقت تشهد فيه مناطق غرب خان يونس تكدسًا كبيرًا للنازحين، ما يزيد الحاجة الملحة لتوفير المياه النظيفة بشكل مستمر. إن توقف خزان السطر عن العمل من شأنه أن يؤدي إلى زيادة الضغط بشكل كبير على محطة تحلية مياه البحر الجنوبية، والتي تُعد الآن المصدر الرئيسي لتزويد السكان ومراكز الإيواء بالمياه، إلا أنها مهددة بالتوقف في أي لحظة نتيجة أعطال متكررة في نظام تشغيل المولدات، في ظل نقص حاد في قطع الغيار وصعوبة إجراء أعمال الصيانة اللازمة.
وإزاء هذا الوضع الحرج، تناشد مصلحة مياه بلديات الساحل المؤسسات الدولية والإنسانية، وعلى رأسها هيئات الأمم المتحدة، إلى التحرك العاجل والتدخل الفوري لتوفير الحماية التشغيلية لخزان السطر، رغم وقوعه في منطقة الإخلاء، إضافة إلى تسهيل إدخال قطع الغيار الضرورية لصيانة محطة التحلية الجنوبية، منعًا لانهيار منظومة المياه جنوب القطاع.
إن استمرار هذا الوضع يهدد بتفاقم الأزمة الإنسانية، ويعرّض حياة عشرات الآلاف من المواطنين، خاصة النازحين، إلى مخاطر العطش وتدهور الأوضاع الصحية.

Warning of an Impending Water Crisis in Khan Younis Following the Shutdown of Al-Satr Reservoir
The Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) warns of a serious humanitarian crisis in water supply across Khan Younis Governorate, following the shutdown of the Al-Satr Reservoir located in the western part of the city. The reservoir became out of service due to its location within the evacuation zones declared by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Al-Satr Reservoir is one of the most critical water distribution points in the governorate, receiving large quantities of water from the "Mekorot" line, which had only recently resumed pumping after undergoing repairs due to damages resulting from bombardment.
This development comes amid a severe overcrowding of displaced persons in the western areas of Khan Younis, which significantly increases the urgent need for continuous access to clean water. The suspension of operations at Al-Satr Reservoir will place enormous pressure on the Southern Seawater Desalination Plant — now the main source of water for residents and shelters. However, the plant is also at risk of imminent shutdown due to repeated failures in generator systems, amid a severe shortage of spare parts and extreme difficulties in carrying out necessary maintenance.
In light of this critical situation, the CMWU urgently calls on international and humanitarian organizations — particularly United Nations agencies — to take immediate action to secure operational protection for the Al-Satr Reservoir, despite its location in an evacuation zone. The CMWU also appeals for the facilitation of the entry of essential spare parts needed to maintain the Southern Desalination Plant, to prevent the collapse of the water system in southern Gaza.
The continuation of this situation threatens to worsen the humanitarian crisis and endangers the lives of tens of thousands of people — especially displaced persons — with the risk of thirst and deteriorating health conditions.
